I am living my life's purpose and passion in my work each day. I am so honored to use my training and experience to help my clients heal and grow. You won’t find toxic positivity with me, but you will find someone who has known suffering, has healed and now helps others do the same. Because of this, I hold a strong belief in growth and healing for everyone who is willing to show up for themselves, even in the smallest way.
Who am I?
I am an empath, highly sensitive, intuitive and compassionate. I am a busy mom of three, who learned that self-care is not a luxury, but a necessity, for all of us. I use a lot of dry shampoo, coffee, 5:30am walks (which I love and also hate) and music played loudly, along with hot baths, roasted vegetables and time with friends, to be my best self.
Nearly two decades ago, I began my career as a Hospice and Palliative Care Social Worker with Four Seasons. I worked in this realm both here in WNC and also in Denver, Colorado. I held many roles within end of life and bereavement care including leadership and management. During my eight years in this work, I developed a passion for helping people through their grief and navigating family issues.
In 2011, I went to work for Mission Health System, in a variety of settings including Oncology, Intensive Care Units, Cardiology, Pulmonary Medicine and Psychiatry.
My experiences led me to seek out more focus in Addiction Medicine and Treatment. I was honored to do a clinical internship and then worked in an inpatient setting providing treatment for substance use disorders. I also obtained my associate license as a Clinical Addiction Specialist and worked for Vaya Health providing services for high risk clients suffering from Severe Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) and Severe Substance Use Disorders. I also served as the Regional Opioid Response Coordinator until I found myself unable to ignore the pull to be back with clients. I then worked as a contract therapist for a non-profit counseling center.
