People often come to me when they feel like they are stuck and not knowing the path forward. Grief, depression, relationships or circumstances have them feeling held down or frozen in one place. There is hope. Healing is possible. Your pain and hardships can even be transformative when you get the individualized care that you need.
I will meet you where you are in your journey and together, we will find what healing looks like for you.
Rachel Fowler, LCSW
Very often when we experience life stressors and mental health or relational struggles, we develop defense mechanisms, ways of coping and relating with others to protect ourselves. While they might work initially, they can become the things that may keep us stuck and struggling. To address all of these layers, I start with our relationship. Interestingly, research confirms that a very secure, trusting, safe and compassionate therapeutic alliance between client and therapist, is the highest indicator of success in therapy. I will customize our time together to ensure your needs are met and we are making progress towards your goals.
Therapy often feels like sorting through a puzzle, each session we come back to it, sorting out the pieces, starting at the edges where it feels more clear and moving towards the center which is more complicated. Also like a puzzle it is important to take time to notice our progress. I strive to have sessions end so you feel that the pieces we haven’t yet placed in the puzzle, are put back in the container until next time.
Yellow Birds are symbols of hope and change. In many cultures and spiritual practices it is believed a yellow bird appearing is a sign that change is coming. Finding hope and meaning in the midst of hardship is not easy, yet when we do, we start to find our way forward.
